I'm rebuilding the front shaft on my 92. Anybody know where I can find this in town www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p2305_jeep_cv_rebuild_kit_1310_series_includes_spi cer_211544x_cent.html

Also are all three u joints the same?

All those parts you should be able to get through your local auto parts store.

I'm about to take this project on myself with the front shaft out of my 90 XJ, and then with my 97XJ's front shaft.. Figure I can make use of the 90's shaft once I install the SYE in my 97.. Hope this writeup (http://www.myjeepxj.com/cherokee-repairs/front-drive-shaft-rebuild) will help you a little bit on this project.. I hope to be able to do a writeup myself when I do mine and will post it up here, whenever I get enough down time at home to tackle it that is..

Ok guys I was able to get the centering yoke apart. As illustrated in the following pictures I used a punch and a hammer to remove the ball. After chucking the centering yoke up in the vise I inserted a 3/16 punch into the hole in the back of the ball and hit downward on the punch using it as a pry bar to remove the ball.http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/18/20696f1fa91b38c3d81987cde2d84664.jpg

Once the ball is removed there is a sleeve that remains inside the yoke. Instead of using a puller as suggested, I carefully used a dremel tool to cut the sleeve on one side to allow for it to be removed. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/18/69e74edbda718870bf4d83b20ccd91b9.jpg

After the sleeve is out just clean up any debris or rust from the socket and it's ready to reassemble http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/18/f05dcce8826fa5244d18124d9e5fb411.jpg
