Look like window seals (door to window on exterior), to me.

Good eye, Steve. I agree. And the long one looks like it goes around the bottom of the cargo compartment or something

Someone else tore it down... The pair seems to be for the bottom of the front doors. The longer piece, if I remember correctly, is too short by a few inches for the lift-gate.

The long piece looks very similar to a piece on our TJ that runs underneath the drivers door and holds the wires for the taillights out of the way so they don't get snagged on your feet. I know you have an XJ so I'm sure this comment is probably of no help to you. Sorry.

I thought so... Looked through my pics and confirmed. The long piece goes below the rear window to hold the liftgate panel on the top.
