Ok, I just purchased a 1999 XJ with a stock lift. The front Right (passenger side) tire when turned all the way to the right is rubbing the brake hose. Looks as though it has been like that for a long time, the Jeep has 228,000 miles on it. I had somebody look at it and they advised to reposition the hose on the caliper side to a different position. It is installed at 9:00 position (hard line of hose toward passenger seat) if you are looking at it from the outside of the tire. Is this the Correct position or should it be at 12:00 or somewhere else at the square connection ? Also had a line wrench installed on the flare nut at the frame side and it rounded off. What is the trick now to get it apart ? I was thinking on using a set of visegrips. Thanks.

Yes, vicegrips are probably your only option now on that nut. Once you get it loose, hive the upper end of the hose a quarter turn either way and that should take care of your rubbing problem. I have had to do this same thing

Ok, it took alittle heat from a torch and the fitting screwed right out. Repositioned the brake hose on the caliper side and all is good.

Heat is the best penetrating oil ! Just don't boil the brake fluid.
