I know this might be very far fetch. But I'm trying to recover my motorcycle seat. I'm in the lookings for a raw hide. Whether it be Moose, deer, Bison, etc. I want to cure the hide and tan it. Then use it in on my seat. I'll pay a finders fee and shipping. It's for a 70's Norton. So it's gonna have a bit of size to it.
I'm kinda sorta not really sorry if this upsets a tree hugger vegan PETA kinda person on this forum.

Just a suggestion Deejay, any of the deer family yields leather that is soft and not durable and a waste of time for a seat. Unless you want to ride bare butt. :D You might try pig hide. The most durable gloves I used as a firefighter were made out of wild boar from Hawaii. The least durable was elk. Those only lasted a month

Steve, yes! I was just thinking that. A few years ago. I met this really nice husband & wife in Tahoe. They live in Monterey County on a ton of land. They let me and my friends hunt boar on their land a few years back. I can't get a hold of her the past 2 years though. I cured my meat 3-4 summers ago, in my garage. I've got pig skin welding gloves that I really like. You even get good dexterity out of them.
