Being I had completed the mounting and operational parts of my 50" lightbar, as well as my brother testing out a set of 27w round led lights, we decided to compare lighting setups. And I thought a video may help anyone considering any of these options.

What make are the light bars ? They seem a bit weak compared to the bars I'm running.

The 13.5" is from ebay, a seller named sclights. The 50" is through amazon, and says a brand of EYourLife. Both american sellers but i have no doubt they are just chinese made and shipped over for resale. And to be perfectly honest the video was a bit amateur and didn't show the best lighting. All lights shown were a bit brighter than pictured.

Oh yeah! That's why i say for the money you can't beat it. I paid $55 for the 13.5" and it blows away my 55w driving lights. And $160 for the 50" is far less than you'd pay for anything equivalent in halogen or hid.

Thanks bud!

Thanks for that xj, I got a 30" from eBay, but got caught out slightly. I hadn't checked for Epistar or Cree chips, it was what it was, a cheap Chinese copy, I punted it straight out again and ordered a Cree 30", the difference was really noticable. I know you guys have a lot of support for US companies, but I really don't know how the budget can stretch to Ridgid prices. These 2 images give you a fair idea of just how bright Crees are even in daylight.

I know the 13.5" are epistar and i guess i got caught up on reviews and other stuff and failed to make sure the 50" was cree but i'm pretty happy with it anyway. Mainly as long as it lasts i'll be happy. It still is bright as the sun, well brighter at some parts. :D

I don't see the rigid prices either. And to be honest i've seen others rigs with them and it wasn't a big difference. So i can't see justifying the extra cost, well even if i had that kind of many to spend on a light. :p

I'm a member of the local 4x4 Response group, they suply logistic support to medical staff/local council/search&rescue and police in adverse weather. I was the first to go with LED light bars, there's now quite a few members running bars. They really are a quantum leap forward in lighting.
XJ, the Epistar are a very close second to Cree, and as you say, if your happy, that's what counts, and any LED will chuck out more light that 'normal' lights so your still up on the deal. :D
It is hard to get a video that properly shows just how bright LEDs are in real life.
