There are these diff bearing caps that are apparently very unique to each diff housing. Well..... I can't find the ones that came off my Dana 30 that I'm building. I ordered a set from J&W. But they called back not wanting to ship them b/c they think I'll run into major issues.
Can anyone vouch for this or has anyone had any experiences with this kinda stuff? I don't see how I could run into any major issues. A little machining and walla.
Thanks, this crap is stressing me out. If it's not one frickin damn thing its another. And I hate job, which I'm sitting at more.

They are unique. If you absolutely had to, you could have a set align bored. Not sure who would do it though

Yes, I hear ya. Not only do you have to keep them, they need to go in the same way they came out

That's what I remember reading. And I thought I put them back on. I even took one off at a time just to make sure I didn't funk things up. Hell, I dont know what happen. But clearly I phuked up and I'm not happy about it.

Did you send the caps out with the housing?

I'm not sure at this point. I've carted that damn axle all over the place. I'm going to tear my garage apart tonight and look. If all else fails. I cut the truss off and reweld the truss to the Dana 30 that my Jeep is rolling on now. So by 2016 I might have a running vehicle.

I'd say make it 2018. I might have a better paying job by then.

I might have great grandchildren by then and have to start on another generation of Jeeps for them. :D

SO! I ordered new bearing caps from J&W. They got to my buddy Cliff. He installed everything and everything is in perfect operating condition. I was so damn stressed out this wouldn't work.

Me too! Man I was stressed like no other. I just can't afford crap right now. Had this gone sour. I'd be another $700 outa pocket.
