Well it's not that bad.

I scored a low mileage replacment on ebay for $125 + 75 shipping.

It took me 3 hours in my shop to tear down the whole IFS front end to get the axle out. I expect it will take twice that long to put it all back, since I have to swap in my True Trac diff into the new axle.

Can you believe I wheeled it out from Buck Island Lake and drove it 200 home like that?

I can believe that. I have done similar things, wheeled hard with a tcase falling off etc. Stuff happens

Hell yes it was worth it 10 times over!

I haven't enjoied an off road adventure that much since Dusy Ershim 15 years ago.

The Rubicon is an awesome (and very challenging) trail.
