This is a couple, 3, 4 months late :D... but I'd like to thank everyone on here who helped me in my journey of taking my '00 XJ from normal jeep stock, to a very capable rig sitting on a custom 3.25" lift and 31" mt's. I'm going to school to get my Class A CDL, so once my personal loans and credit cards are paid off, I'll be picking up either a non-rust belt XJ or YJ to build. Thanks for being the best jeep based forum out there, :xjtalk1:!

No worries bud. And you are always welcome here, jeep or not. Good luck in your endeavors and just a tip. Get your hazmat while your going. A good bit more money can be made hauling those loads.

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.

Thanks. I'll be getting all the endorsements. The test are easy, and the income benefits they offer are well worth the extra effort.

Well we certainly understand that if you don't have an XJ there may be little appeal for the :xjtalk: but just in case you're more than welcome to stick around. We have a general section that you can post about anything!

Also don't forget about our podcast. Might help keep those XJ juices flowing! :D

You're still welcome here... I had to laugh at your XJ to Ram trade.. You had a 2 year newer XJ then mine (98)... and traded it in on a 2 year newer Ram then mine (09)... LOL.. Did you do your head unit install yourself on the Ram or pay someone?? I only ask cause it was a fun time of experimenting & trial and error of cutting/fitting & wiring fun, but am far happier with the choice of sticking with an aftermarket head unit with many other upgrades over the factory upgraded NAV radio...

We're like mopar brothers! :bacondance:

The previous owner had it installed. I recently pulled it out to see if the factory aux and usb ports were hooked up, and my head hurt just from seeing the insane amount of wiring needed to intergrate it. The like my builtin garmin gps a lot better than the uconnect nav my buddy has in his '13 ram.

I love getting to work on my Ram as much as I can or as necessary.. So far hasn't been any necessary work on mine, just the work I wanted to do with it.. I didn't like the uconnect either, that is another reason why I didn't pick up the 2010 model they had at the stealership with the factory nav system or the factory remote start.. and in the end I'm more then pleased with my choice in going with my 09 which was cheaper, and spending the money to pick up the parts I wanted to install and doing the work myself.. (although I won't lie I was working on a pretty steep headache with all that was required to integrate it with the CAM Bus system and keep the truck happy as well myself)... and now I have NAV, XM Sat radio, backup camera, integrated amp & remote start using the factory FOB.. and still spent less then they wanted for less then those options on the factory items.. so spent that on a few other upgrades I wanted to do to it.. lol.. Have done quite a few upgrades to the truck since I've had it and have been researching quite a few others... so if you got any ideas or questions let me know, might have researched or done it already.. lol

I went with my '11 for the same reason. I got more features and saved a ton over a new Ram equally built.

Thanks, will do!
