Why does my Dana 30 have a breathing/venting tube but my Dana 35 does not? Is the breathing tube really required? Does the 30 get really hot?

The 35 does have one where the brake line attaches

I am going to have to give it a 2nd look. I do not remember seeing one on mine.

Yeah I'd def say look @ the junction block on the axle where the brake lines connect, it's either there and just blends in really well... or it's not there at all, as it seems to get pulled or snagged on stuff and folks don't even realize it's not gone, until they are curious about it, or it ends up in the hands of someone who cares to look... lol... should look something like this:

Except for there should be a clamp on there, holding the breather tube onto the barb!!

I will give it a look when the rain stops. Thanks.

Yeah, you should have two hoses (one breather and one brake hose) coming off the junction block, and two lines. The breather should be coming out the top of it.

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.

From past experence mount all the vent lines, diff and transmission as high as possable to keep water out. Trashed a trans because it was too low and filled up with muddy water

I had to reroute my Dana 30 breather tube due to it burning next to the exhaust. I went up the passenger side of the vehicle away from the exhaust points.
