Hello,

I just inherited an 97 XJ it seems to be in pretty good shape. I don't know much about it's history however. It has 198K but still pulls strong and does not burn oil as far as I can tell. There is very little rust, and the interior is in good shape. As soon as I learn more about the specifics (trans axle etc...) I will update my profile.

Thing1 is my XJ :xj-white:
Thing2 is my KL (AKA Parts gopher for XJ build) ;)

:welcome: to :xjtalk: from Delaware!! Look forward to seeing the pics of your 97... If you take pics of the axles front front and rear we'll help you identify them quick.. lol.. Most likely if it's an AT & 4WD then you are looking at an AW4 Transmission and a 231J transfer case, but if you look on the back of the transfer case you'll see a little metal tag that'll identify what TC you have.. something similar to this:
