I've been listening to the podcast for a few months now and like the show. Good info and entertainment. But then again, I'm an old fart and easily entertained...

I drive a modified '99 XJ Classic and am currently rebuilding the front and rear axles after some unfortunate breakage on Deer Valley in Northern California during the 2014 NAXJA Sierra Fest in early August.

My XJ sports a 6.5" SA lift, 33x12.50 MT/R's on 10" Soft 8's, and plenty of armor, lockers, and other goodies. Now, I'm off to Amazon to buy more parts...

I had Rawkhous send me a quote on a sweet Rockjock D44 axle with 4.88's and Yukon Zip locker, but I did not want to spend the 4k on that axle. I will stay on 33's and will extend the life of the D30 with new Synergy ball joints, tube inserts, and a new set of 4.56 gears and a Detroit Tru-Trac. I currently have the Warn lock out kit with 4340 shafts and spicer joints, so it will last me awhile.

Yeah, not optimal, but I also need to fix my rear 8.25 and I don't want a 6k bill.

yep killed my wee d30 ...threw a ox locker in it chrome molly axles sweet as :rolleye0012:....want to pull it at some stage as the whole diff housing has slight bend ....ruff malls down here:D

I have a house in Rocklin (an hour south of you) where I spent the last 14 years, but live in Lancaster (just above LA) currently. I'm back and forth quite often.
