I have a question after searching and not com g up with any answers. If I remove the doors from the 99 and build a set of tube doors for it. What do I do about front speakers? .......do without??? Has anyone seen/ fabbed a solution to this.

When I ran my 00 Doorless I just relied on the rear speaker bar for music.

You could mount some under the dash Iguess. Or go full redneck and run speakers on the tube doors with the back end all exposed.

A piede of strategically placed sheet metal and you could run waterproof boat speakers in them if you want. Most people just do without, but that doesn't mean you have to

Most do without, but I saw a guy who took a rear sound bar out of a JY XJ and he somehow mounted it in the front when he recovered his headliner... so he had speakers in a sound bar up front and in the rear of his XJ, and when he had his doors on had a 6 speaker setup.. I'm trying to see if I can find the thread again, but am sure I won't be able to now that I want too!!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Maybe try to rig up some small speakers in the console or something.

I once saw a shorty 40, I know I know I'll wash my mouth with soap when I'm finished, :smiley-taunt002: that had speakers mounted in the headrests.
I thought it was kinda clever, considering it was doorless.

cheers

I have removed the steal plate from under the steering wheel and have a five" drilled into the plastic under the Steering wheel. Passenger side is mounted in the glove box.

i go without. still use the ones in the back. usualy too loud anyways to hear music.
soem guy had tube doors and had bolt mounts welded on and bolt on a speaker. not sure what wires in the harness are for speaker though. would be good to know.
like the other guy said.

it might actually work out better to place them in the dash. 4.5", 5.25 should work nicely and if you were to do a component system. The tweeter would be closer to the coaxial speaker
