Shock absorbers needed

I'm going to put a 2" budget boost on my 88 XJ in the future, but I need new shocks now. Can I just buy quality stock shock absorber or do I need to get something longer? Not interested in rock climbing, but do like to go into the woods and camping. Thanks.

Shocks need to be 2" longer. You will have to check your bump stops too and probably extend them an inch as well

Get some bar pin eliminators that will put you back into the proper zone with stock length shocks. The rear axle swaybar brackets will work for this purpose if you have taken out the rear sway bar yet.
