As if I needed another project! This is heading home with me tomorrow. It's been sitting in the bushes on my father in law's property for about 14 years. It stopped running one day and he towed it home and parked it and never touched it since.

1960 IH Scout 80. 152 4 cylinder, 3 speed T90A, twin sick Dana 18 transfer case, and Dana 27s on 6.50-16s.

The roof comes off, windshield folds down, and the sliding windows come off the doors.

My boys and I are going to work on making it into a dedicated trail rig. It will likely be a long slow mutation, but it's bound to be fun!

That's awesome! I rather like Scouts, we actually have two of the II variety. Although not in the best shape... This will be a cool project for you guys. And I will enjoy reading about it!

Haha I have an old Scout sitting in the woods. Has been in there for probably 30+ years. It used to be my dad's.

It will likely be somewhat slow, as "exra" funds are not abundant, but it will be fun.

I have a '78 GMC heavy duty 3/4 ton sitting in my barn. It is completely shot but the drive train is all good. We were going to swap the motor, trans, and t-case into my old S-10 for one of my boys, but we may rethink that and use those and the axles for this. It's a mildly built 400 small block, turbo 400 trans, and the NP-203 full time t-case. 14 bolt full floater rear, and 10 bolt front.

While in high school a friend of mines dad had one of those on a hunting lease in west Texas. He got it from the border patrol had all kinds of heavy duty skid plates on it. As hard as we tryed (being high school kids) we could not tear that thing up. As far as I know it's still on the hunting lease running.

And it's still sitting there going to waste, why??!! Get on that, bro!! I love the look of the Scouts almost as much as Jeeps!! I think they look good especially after a little bit of love and build up!!
