View Full Version : Cant get rear hatch window out. glued. whats the trick?

i have a 98 4dr.

i hear the 97+ are glued in.
whats the trick? it wont budge. i cant get that inner rubber gasket out.
i would hate to break the window......... :rolleye0012:

putting velcro around the whole seam and puttin in softwindow with zipper :bacondance:

Yep, Piano wire and/or very strong monofilament fishing line think 80# test or greater.

anyone know the official term for those snap button things that go onsoft pickup truck bed covers? or boat soft window vynel cover things? iv seen them before. you screw one end on and the other end is riveted or pressed on to canvas/vynel/plastic and then snapped together.

i was going to just buy a rear hmmvw cargo window but that window is pretty small. would be perfect though for other sizes. plenty to cut down and sticth velcro to then glue velcro to hatch and have a zipper window

Also. Check marine stores as in boats. Boaters and button snaps are best friends. Cabelas sells em by the bag full.

Truth. Towable covers use snaps for bow cover for sure. some use them for the rest of the cover as well.
