So spent the last 90 minutes or so trying to move my PS pump

I went as far as removing the 4 bolts and still nothing.

Whats the trick to this? Is there an idler pulley conversion kit cause this PS pump thing sucks, My 78 mino had the same thing but that was stupid easy to do as the swing bolts actually functioned the way they should.

I have new belt in hand (975K6) but alas its in hand not on the pulleys.

Help PLEASE. I have to take it to Ft Atkinson WI in the morning for the weekend and would love to have a quiet ride. Belt is glazed and smooth side shows the inner construction of the belt(threads)
Belt dressing worked for all of 8 seconds.

Thanks in advance

Yes, there is an idler pulley replacement and IIRC NAPA has them. I also believe you can eliminate the pump altogether and get a shorter belt too

from what IM reading there is only the 2 on front, 2 on rear and below the pump. I removed all of them and it just sits there

Actually what I wanted to see is the type of compressor you have. Sometimes there are some little sleeves the bolts go through that can get in the way

Ooos yeah but im working on the ps pump/tensioner. Spacer sleeves you mean yeah but I dont think I have to loosen the ac pump to do the belt I hope. If so itll be a water pump alternator and balancer only belt system. The problem is the ps pump :floats" when all the bolts are removed not just loosened. Ot wont swing up or down in the slots.

There is a tensioner bolt underneath the PS pump that is hard to see.

The 3" or so one? It also was removed both rear bolts were removed and the topfront and the one to its right . Im stumped. A 3' wrecking bar didnt even budge it. Rubber mallet was begging for mercy I really have no idea how it was staying in place.

Appreciate all the help guys its gonna save me some money so I can get the flanges for the lower control arms to axle. Got it welded but who knows how long the metal around it will last.
