my jeep is for expo and rescue purposes.
im a man of utility and multi purpose.

i have some questions. im hoping others have done similiar and maybe you can post pics to give me more ideas.

the following pics arent mine but are helpful.
my quest is regarding the hatch from the inside.
my hatch is bare. no plastic on the inside.
im mounting an LED work light with switch. when hatch is open to shine down.

what wire could i tap into from the hatch to the wiring grommet back into the cab that has constant power(vehicle on or off) run new power wire?

i want to mount my axe/shovel and medic bag like below. where do you get those maglite mount things. what do you call them? what other things can i use? anyone have more pics of this.

As far as the lights go, I think there is only one wire that is hot all the time. That would be the wiper return circuit. I don't have a color to give you on that. As for the rest, the limiting factor there would be the hatch struts. I know mine will not support an additional ax and shovel. To make it work, you would have to address that. You could however attach those to the sides. I have a large inverter on the driver side and I am seriously thinking of relocating my air tank to the other side and getting it off the floor. You can get the Mag Lite clips at NAPA. If your XJ has the hollowed out area in the passenger side near the hatch, that would be a great place for a bag to be tucked in

i have the sides hollowed out. i have tools in them. inverter on one side.
left rear window has a wire grill welded in to hang my camel bag/bog/more tools.
i didnt think about the struts. but it might compensate when i bust out the window to make a canvas/soft window that buttons on.

those mag light things. do they have a universal name? i remember seeing these things you bolt down and they had like a watch velcro strap deal.
the other idea was this.

For clamps, these are awesome: http://www.endroad.com

Way better than the mag light clamps. And they are really great to deal with too.

You bet. I have used several of their sizes and they all work great! Plus family owned and made in America!
