I just had a leaf spring plate installed on each side of the xj. It lifted the back end up about 2 inches. But it seems like the front end is now a sliver lower that what it should be. How do I measure. Yes I know how to use a tape measure.

Do I measure from the center of the tire up to the fender edge?

Do I measure from the ground up?

Just wondering.

Thanks

Rob

You can measure from the center of the hub up to the bottom of the fender.. or from the center of the hub to the first crease in the fenders... Steve 4.3XJ has done a thread with the measurements.. I'll see if I can find it if he doesn't jump in here first with those numbers...

Here you go. This will tell you how to do it. Bear in mind that XJ came from the factory with the rear looking higher than the front

So the rear should be a sliver higher than the front?

"Should" is a relative term. If you are talking restoration, then yes. But most who lift prefer the level look

So I measured. From the center hub on the front it's 18, and the rear is 18 1/2.

And this is an accurate way to do it. I have the original wheel flares.

I wonder how much the new leaf and rear will compress and stay that way once we use the camper this summer

Ok.

In the good old days, springs didn't settle. But nowadays …..
