Hello all. I bought my 2000 Flame Red XJ just over 2 years ago. After I wheeled it a few times I decided to sell my 04 Rubicon, now I taking some of that money and throwing it into the XJ. As of now it has 116k on the clock. I'm running a 3 inch Rusty's with an ad a leaf in the rear. I think I enjoy running this on the trails more then my rubicon! Anyway, I knew of the forum since I had a wrangler I modified over the past 8 years... I was googleing around to see what everyone was doing for replacement seats and figured I would register and poke around. I found a pristine pair of Dodge Daytona seats on craigslist for $30 & am trying to figure out the best way to install them... I have one temporarily installed, but it's hitting the seat belt... Anyway, I'm a mechanic and in law enforcement if that makes any sense. I'll be lurking here for a while I'm sure.

Hello Shawn, welcome to xjtalk! By the looks of your avatar that a very clean xj ya got! When you have a second post up some so I don't have to squint. :D Thanks for joining and putting up some info. What kind of plans do you have for the jeep from here?

Oh, and all tickets are deferred to "Wayne". He's the one covered in mud...

Here's picture after an afternoon in the woods. My Rubicon, now sold, is in the back.
I'm keeping this Cherokee mild, it's a daily driver for the most part and I don't wheel as often, not enough time. I'm driving it 11 plus hours in August, so getting it ready for a long drive right now. I have several projects going at once... Alarm / remote start install, rear vault construction and install, Front seat replacement and bracket fabrication, fender and hood replacement, roof rack modification, led light bar install... wow that's a lot of stuff I need to do!

Yeah it is but I have driven mine that far many times. The XJ is definitely more comfortable than the TJs

Sounds like some great projects. Got a led bar to install myself. The vault sounds awesome, post that up when you do it please!

Thanks for the pic

Will do, I bought a 50" by mistake, it has spots in the center and flood light on the outer edges. I'm planning on splitting the circuit so I can control them separately... if it's possible. I may also shorten it a bit... depending on how I mount it with the roof rack. I should start a build thread, even though it's not much of a build.

That sounds very interesting. Let us know how it works out rewiring it and shortening. Hope it works out well. I don't see why not, these housings are pretty basic. No one will mind if your build thread isn't much. Mine isn't much either, just a few things I made and tweaks and stuff. We enjoy all the different kinds of builds.

Awesome! One of the great things about a build thread is it chronicles everything as you go. Just post up what you do and its there in order with pics (if you put pics of course!)

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.
