I hear about alot of guys using http://www.superbrightleds.com/

They should have what you need, and the prices aren't all that bad either.
I did a write up for replacing the lights in the switches of my 99 with LED's here, using resistors and LED's from Radio Shack. You can see that HERE: http://www.xjtalk.com/showthread.php?t=11356

(currently however there is a technical issue with the account where my photos are being hosted, and many of the picture links are dead.... this is getting resolved - hopefully soon)

Should be (5) 194 "T10" bulbs to do the cluster and be sure to get bulbs with leds 360° around to not have dead spots. The seller i got mine from wasn't really up to par so i don't have a suggestion there. Good luck!

I can only find 120 and 220 degrees you think the 120 would work and not leavevdead spots

I don't. I think it probably wouldn't look very even. Give me a bit and i'll see what i can find.

Technically they are 360* but most of the light points forward.

The ones I prefer are like this, and you said you preferred Ebay...

Ah, okay. Sorry about that, I got that Ebay thing backwards. But yes, and here's some from super bright leds. http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-wedge-base/194-led-bulb-5-smd-led-wide-angle-wedge-base/206/

Correct me please, but my understanding is that once LEDs are installed there will be no dimming control. One brightness fits all!

That actually can be true and false. If you put a resistor in line or have other incandescent bulbs in the same system it should still dim. Example. If you replaced all the dash bulbs, cluster, switches, a/c panel, etc with leds it won't dim much at all. But like mine, I did that and ended up putting two blacked out incandescent bulbs back in the cluster to gain some back. But, the correct way is to wire in a resistor.
