I cant decide between the mickey tompson MTZ and the wrangler duratrac.
I need to decide by tomorrow because the 60$ rebate for the duratrac's ends tomorrow and I need the rebate in order to afford them. the MTZ's have an 80$ rebate. I live in Southern Pa near the Md line around Gettysburg. I daily drive my xj but road noise dosnt matter and price dosnt matter because they are only 40$ differnt for 4. Most of my driveing is on pavement but i recently lifted the jeep and want to go wheeling more but still need to drive my jeep everyday.

Which is best for my situation?

If snow is a concern in your daily driving experience, then get the Druatracks. Everybody says they do well in snow

I'd go duratrac. Suppose to be a good road tire as well as offroad. Don't know a ton about the mtz but it does look more aggressive. Good offroad, but may not get the mileage you're looking for.

I vote for the duratrac as well. It's a great tire. Rides well, low noise, people say they get good life out of them. The only negative thing I've heard, is that they are soft side walls and not great in rocks b/c they get side wall cuts easily. But that's only word of mouth.

The MTZs hook up great in the mud and are decent on the road. I have seen them on an XJ before and they chew through the mud. They are prob one of the best handling mud terrains as far as road manners are concerned. With that said they are still a mud terrain and will not perform as well as the duratracs on the street. If you take care of the MTZs there is no reason why you wouldn't get at bare minimum 25k miles out of them. My buddy got closer to 35k out of them on his XJ. If your going to be hitting the trails only once a month or so I say go with duractracs. If your gonna be on the trails every weekend then go for the MTZs. That's my vote.
