Hey guys. I'm new to XJtalk and to the XJ world. Bought a 2001 Cherokee limited 6 months ago. Learned a lot real quick (cracked head, bad oil pump, & 2 flat cam lobes). Swapped the motor with a Marshal rebuilt.

First is a picture from the day I bought him (my son decide "Jeep" is a boy).
Second is some crazy adjustable push rod contraption to compensate/cause the flat lobe.
Third picture is the cracked head. Bet you couldn't guess that this is on the exhaust valve stem tower between cylinders 3 and 4.

:welcome: to :xjtalk:.... Glad to see that you were able to get your XJ up and going... sorry to see that is how you had to start your Jeep life off... But at least now you know you should get plenty of time and use out of the new engine..
