View Full Version : Am I missing ??? - Where do these go?

Putting the XJ back together...

1) There seems to be too much of a gap between the hood and front (photo below)... Am I missing a part?

Loosen the four hood bolts and slid the hood forward. Your not missing parts.

I haven't a clue what they are.

My header panel is plastic check to make sure the studs are still anchored

The studs in my header panel were broke off I had a gap like this. I tried to epoxy the the studs back in with no luck. A junk yard header solved my problem.

As far as I can tell the header is secure and tight to the front/fender... Although in the photo you'll notice it's away from the fender as I don't have it tightened down. I'm leaning towards a hood adjustment as suggested. Here's a photo of the corner which is why I'm thinking adjustment/re-alignment:

Yep, hood needs to come forward. should be almost perfectly aligned with the fenders

On the rubber pieces, they are meant to cover the horns in the cavity at the front bottom of the front fenders. Not sure on specifics as mine have been gone for years but hope that info helps.

It appears to be #20... So yes it helps! Next I'll look for the holes to align them to. Thanks!
