So I replaced my OPS two weeks ago with advance auto parts BWM brand. 30 miles out of town this morning at 515 the pressure drops to zero. The pressure sender had been reading low ever since I put it in but was constant. It fluctuated between ten and zero with it being at zero more often than not. Decided to idle home and never had any engine knocks or any problems. Pretty sure that means it is that OPS and I need to get official jeep one. On a side note got pulled over for driving with flashers on. Since we were going hunting and we had shotguns in the car that was a little nerve wracking.

Yikes, hope he let you go with a warning. I've never understood why aftermarket manufacturers can't make their parts function properly. I hope ya get it fixed with oem, bud

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 because my microwave couldn't do it

about four years ago my original pressure sending unit went right to zero like that while on the interstate. Just kept on driving so I knew it wasn't engine related. I bought the replacement part from autozone and installed it myself. It's been running fine ever since. It might have just been a bad part. At least it is easy to replace and cheap.

I buy most of my parts off ebay and or from autozone or an autoparts store.

The parts all seem to work fine.

If you have a choice in parts when buying them, example.

Autozone had three water pump styles.
Two had a plastic spinning fin which pumps the water.
The third had all metal fin that pumps the water.

Of course I bought the metal fin which is working fine now for two years in a row.

He did not even give a warning. Could have hassled us about shotties but when I said I had no oil pressure he just let us go. Its true some aftermarket parts are fine however I did read on these forums after I replaced it that the oil pressure sender aftermarket commonly had issues.

Good tip. Thanks. When I put the new one in I will definitely do that. I am going to get the OEM part though.

Well went and bought jeep OPS from dealership and screwed it in. Life is great again! From now on I will only use OEM sensors.....I learned my lesson!
