New jeep owner! If the ac "doesn't work" and you see this, any relation? Or hunch?

Looking to consult the knowledgeable owners of this site to help me solve an issue on a jeep I just purchased. Still waiting to go pick the vehicle up (don't worry a family member checked it out), but I really want to start figuring out what's wrong with it. I was told that the ac doesn't work and I have this picture. Any hunches? That capped vacuum line is very telling. Nonetheless, very excited to be the new owner of a 2001 xj! EDIT *vac line in the upper right corner

Those capped areas are ports and need to be there so the system can be charged and refrigerant pressures checked. Does the compressor come on?

I go pick it up next Tuesday, as far as the compressor goes I'm not sure. I plan on connecting it to the battery to check if it kicks on after I go pick it up. Is that normal to have the vac line capped like that in the back? It looks to be zip tied, definitely not factory. I know that the heat works on it, but no AC

Yes, that is the suction line and where you would add refrigerant. Totally normal

...but the only 'capped' line I could see in the upper right corner is the one I circled red.

That's the vent for the front diff breather..

There is one on the suction line in the upper left corner of the pic. Look hard

I believe the OP is talking about the diff vent line. (zip tied)

Yep, diff breather. Completely normal, well, maybe not the ziptie. Might want to check to see if its cracked or some reason why its ziptied.
