A guy on facebook lead me to this in helping with the issue I am having. Part of the issue was not having a coolant reservoir and also a closed coolant system. As many with an older XJ knows, it can be a pain. So I've taken his advice and went out and got the parts. I havent gotten to install just yet, usually pretty tied up during the week. The parts I believe are from an older (first model) Durango/ Dodge Dakota. I grabbed everything I needed for around 20 bucks. Obviously it is cheaper then upgrading to a 91+ radiator and associated parts. Non the less, its cheap and will give you an open system.

I am going to post the pictures below of what all I got. The boxes have the part numbers and all the parts were purchased from o Reillys. The hose is a 3/8 inner diameter and will lead to an overflow tank. The water outlet adapter will be placed on the top radiator hose (obviously hose cut in half and then part added). The radiator cap was not included, I purchased one for a first year Dodge Durango and it seemed to fit snug (will update later on how it works after install. So check out the pictures and guess you will have to wait for install pictures, lol. If others have done this, please share some feedback on it or whatever comes to mind. In my case, I'm hoping it helps me out and fixes the little kinks I have going on.
