As the name suggests, I'm based in the UK, but started on Jeeps when i lived in So Cal. Bought an '89 YJ with an insurance settlement from a motorcycle accident around '94. Had that for a few years, added some mods (Tru-Trac, 'Trash-Loc', 4" lift, 33's, Warn etc) and ran the local trails (Big Bear, Miller Jeep, Los Coyotes, The Hammers, etc).

Then was offered a better equipped '91 YJ (ARB's, OBA, SOA, etc) by a club member, so traded up.

6 months later we moved back to the UK, so i brought the '91 with me. Wasn't the most practical family car, so i bought a '94 XJ converted to LPG (propane). LPG is a popular conversion in Euro'land due to gas prices.

Great car, even got used as a tow vehicle for the YJ. Until it was t-boned by an 18 wheeler... :thumbdown:

Used the insurance to get a Volvo V40 (boring but 30+mpg...), but missed the XJ, so later bought a '97 (nonLPG). :driving:

And had to sell it a month later as i had to make room for an '82 Cherokee Laredo i had inherited (long story).

Hoping to get the SJ up and running as a) i made a promise to a friend, b) it's my 4th SJ since i moved back here (had 3 during 2006), and it's the most likely to make it back on the road. The other three were too far gone (when the A -Pillar comes off in your hand, you know it's time...:rolleye:)

Really hoping to snag another XJ this year (company bonus permitting...) to share space with the YJ and SJ.
