Rear axle swap

I've got a 91 xj 4.0 auto 4x4 with a 35 rear, I also have a 01 xj 4.0 auto 2wd with a 8.25. can I swap the two and still have two normally functioning xj's or am I gonna run into trouble. they both have 3.55 gears. thanks

thanks, I plan on doing it next Saturday. I bought the 01 and was planning on giving the 91 to my daughter..... bit I'm kinda attached to the 91 so I think I'm gonna keep it and give her the 01
