newb here.. but not new to wheeling. want some ideas for a spare parts list for my 98 xj.

some of you old timers may actually have part numbers and such.

any weird breaks? odd repairs? just want to get the brain juices flowing.

Nobody ever seems to say this, at least 2 of every nut and bolt you may need.

When are you going to Moab, I wouldn't go too soon, as there is still quite a bit of snow on the ground, but it is melting fast. So it will be muddy for a while.

might be easier to tell us what you might be taking ...apart from a camera

For the Jeep:

Fluids (coolant, engine oil, brake fluid, PS fluid or AT fluid)
Serpentine belt
Spark plugs, wires, rotor, dizzy cap
Radiator & heater hoses
Chewing gum (to seal radiator leaks)
Duct tape
Electrical tape
Wire coat hangers
Tube of epoxy steel
Tube of superglue
Some rope

For you (in case you have to spend a cold night in the desert):

Water, water, and more water (even if you won't need it, your Jeep might)
Non-alcoholic refreshments
Energy bars
Food rations
Sleeping bag
Warm clothing, gloves, and a woolly hat
Lighter or flint to start a fire
Some wood (you can collect materials for tinder & kindling on site)

Don't forget to take enough tools and equipment in case you need to perform emergency repairs plus air compressor, tow rope, jumper cables, and a plank of wood to provide a flat surface for the jack.
There's probably more you could add to the list to build survival kits for the Jeep and yourself.

nice!!! I did pick up some wire, rope, and jb weld.

to answer an earlier post, I will be taking my 1998 xj, 6.5 teraflex lift, 35in cooper stt's, locked front and rear, 4.56's, that's about it.

keep ideas coming!!
