Well I have a 98 xj classic. my wife decided to call it buffy one day and the name kinda stuck. Its my version of a cheap trail rig. Everything on it was purchased off craigslist with my total investment being under $2500. It has a 4.5" rough county lift with 2"blocks added in the rear that. Not an ideal setup but hey when its cheap you dont argue. I found a set of 35" wild spirits that were full tread but had a little dry rot on them for $150 and made my money back selling the rims that came with them. I made the front bumper myself out of some scrap i had laying around the garage. I also just installed a 4.0 i picked up off craigslist that had all new gaskets and a new waterpump and tune up for $100. (I'm a good negotiator) lol but since the swap i haven't been able to get it to run. I made post about it hoping to come up with some ideas.

The motor itself hasn't ran in about 4 months now.

Valves might be stuck open. You might want to do a compression check

Ill have to try that next. Whats the normal compression suppose to be? I guess this is what i get for buying a $100 motor i couldn't hear run! lol

You need to be over 100 pounds on all of them. If you have one at next to nothing, then a valve is open. You can squirt a little penetrating oil or marvel mystery oil down them if you have anything near that 100# and pick it up a little until it runs.
