I have a '01 XJ that had an 8" Rusty Long arm kit. I changed the springs to a 4-5" OME lift, put a ZJ pitman arm on (kept the Rusty adjustable track bar). Upgraded to ZJ tie rod as well.

But I still have bump steer, and a clunk from the passanger floor when hitting bumps off road (the clunk was there before I changed the springs and shocks).

Anyway I have posted pics of the front end, the orange string "draws a line" to the two ends of the track bar. Would you consider it "parallel with the drag arm?

What my the cause of the clunk be?

No, it does not look parallel from what I can see in the pics. You probably need to back to the stock pitman arm

Just a wild guess, well maybe not that wild. But that knock sounds like it may be transfer case related, most likely the linkage. It may be going into a bind condition.
I would agree with 4.3 LXJ. Linkage doesn't look real parallel.

A few things i would check with that clunk.
-control arm joints
-transmission crossmember bolts
-transmission mount
-motor mounts

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.
