Hello everyone, I have a 2000 xj with a 3 inch lift and 31x10.50x15s on it right now and was looking into the 4.5 inch rough country add a leaf kit http://www.roughcountry.com/checkout/cart/ with the steering stabilizer, adjustable control arms ( lower, front and rear) and the 1.5 inch wheel spacers. What would you guys suggest i do? do I need the adjustable control arms or what? ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

You should really have the longer lower control arms to preserve your castor angle. 4.5" from add a leaf is a lot. A full spring pack would be better

X2 on full replacement leaf packs. It will pay for itself in the long run.

You noted lower control arms front and rear. But the XJ only has control arms in the front, so no need to buy rears. Although, yes they are necessary like stated above.

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.

Might need to change that trac bar and brake lines too

Yeah I kinda figured as much about the new leaf packs. I wasnt thinking last night when I posted, I was just going off of what rough countrys website was saying, I was exhausted. I believe my brake lines are long enough though. They look like they will have plenty of reach left. I bought my jeep with the lift and tires already on it so I wasnt sure exactly what the previous owner did as far as brake lines go anyway or exactly which brand of lift is on it either. But thank you for the info though

I run spacers with no problems as well, other than my jeep being completely covered in mud anytime I take it out.

Check Amazon for the wheel spacers. I found some rugged ridge ones on there for a steal, and free shipping too. Their quality is just as good as spidertrax and I got them shipped to my house for $140 vs $200+ for spidertrax. This was 3 weeks ago, so the deal might still be there

Here they are: Rugged Ridge 15201.08 Black 1.50-Inch Thick 5 on 4.5 Bolt Pattern Wheel Spacer Pair : Amazon.com : Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41WW1zTd2iL.@@AMEPARAM@@41WW1zTd2iL

I would advise against the AAL. I bought the 4.5" RC lift with AAL, but I knew that when I have a few more pennies I would replace the leaves with full packs, which I did.

I didn't get as much lift out of the AAL as I did the 4.5" full leaf packs.

Oh also the AAL were squeaky during the winter.

My rear lift kind of happened by accident. I won't bore with details here but I ended up with +3.5" springs, +2" shackles and +1" block for 6+". What I like about this set up is it has a lot of droop when flexed out, more than you will gain from springs alone.

Just ordered the wheel spacers. Since I'm on a bit of a budget here, couldn't I just do the inch n a half drop shackles and the 4.5 inch coils and the adjustable control arms and be ok as well?

I would think so. After I put the full 4.5" leaves on I had the 1" to 2" RC shackles, so I was really at 5.5" on the rear. I would eventually had to get rid of the AAL's though as time reduced the amount of "spring" in them.

That there is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Thank you very much. Found a set of rubicon express 4.5 inch coils brand new for $75, control arms for $130 and the rc adjustable shackles for $50
