I don't have experience with them, but a lot of guys lean towards Aussie and Lokka, maybe oven Ox

I'd get an OX over a ARB. But that's just me. Elocker is a good choice. I use detriots. But I'm thinking a selectable in the rear dana 44 I'll build after my dana 30. The rear end gets skwerly in the snow w a non selectable.
I'm still trying to find answers to who makes good quality ring & pinions.
You got Yukon, Alloy USA, Sierra Gear, 5Ten, Precision Gear, I'm not sure if there's actually a difference.

They are all good, some are just better than others. Top of the list is ARB in my opinion. I have some to put in my axles when I get the funds to finish them. Now I am running Aussie Lockers from Lokka.com. Cheap and work well

I am running an aussie in the rear and love it, although the plans in the future are for E-lockers, the only reason I would not run an Arb is the temperature ranges up here in Canada tend to play silly bugger with the air seals on the diffs, and its easier to replace wires on the trails instead of an air line.

But weather in your area might be fine for the Arb, and its just my 2 cents!

Lokka lockers are the cheapest "lunchbox" style around.

Doesnt get any cheaper unless you can find a deal on C.L.
Sources say they are the same (exact) as Aussie Lockers.

Since my lokka arrived not too long ago, I wanted to add that I got a bill from some sort of customs office wanting me to pay $30 buck for getting it shipped in.

Steve, did you get something similar?

No, not on the two I bought or the one my son bought. Check and see what the senders address is. If it is a US address, then it is bogus

Kinda what I was thinking. I've got the locker, what the hell are they going to do about it now?!? Not sure I could find the paperwork if I had to.....

Why not?

Apparently there is a tool but it costs almost 200 bucks. I tried tapping it in with a big socket, screwed it up. Everyone online says it has no seat for that seal. I made an all thread tool with washers and nuts to try and pull it in place but I can't seem to keep it straight.

I haven't had to replace mine, but to do it properly I think the thing to do is pull the knuckle

Metlic53

Pull the knuckle? So I have a straighter path to pull?

How does the front Lokka perform on the streets, when in 2wd ?

4.3LXJ
01-05-2014, 09:41 PM
If you are asking me, the answer is that I don't even know it is there in 2WD

Well, I was checking out the operation specs.

Locks when driveline torque is being applied.

Wondering how It works while driving and steering while "mall crawling" ?

You can hear it clicking a little in the parking lot in the turns. But other than that, you cannot tell it is there. If my CAD still worked, it wouldn't even do that

I was running an Aussie locker in the front of my jeep and I liked it. It performed great both on and offroad, never had a problem...that and theyre not that expensive
