ran across a set of rails on CL and bought 'em. They're a tad longer than I need (cut off wheel) but all 3 mounting point are within the 60" length I need. They're slightly curved convex when mounted so I may add some steps to break up the line a little. Anyone ever tried this? I'll have to fab them up but it's better than dropping 4 bills for some pretty basic rails.

Hmmm... very interested to see how it works out. I love making parts work from other vehicles ;)

Sounds interesting.. I haven't paid attention to jk rock rails but i figure its all metal, just some of the works already done for ya.

Sounds like it will take some work. But the price is right on the metal

It will definitely take some work. They bolt up right at the edge of the body as opposed to extending to the frame rails like our XJs. I may off them to my neighbor and just pocket a bill or two. meant to look at his JK last night but forgot. Not sure where I'm headed with these yet. I'll post up if I get them sorted out. Seems like these are a dime a dozen as a couple guys in Jeep club have theirs for sale as well.
They're not as thick/tough as some I've seen but should be readily available. we'll see

Theyre going to need some tubing to get to the frame rail
