Alright so i bought my xj on Tuesday was running awesome no problems or mishaps. Then yesterday out of no where it started idling low and missing in cylinders 1 and 2. So we tested spark was good replaced all the plugs cleaned the throttle body battery posts and cables. Still no change so any ideas what i should change check or..? Anything would be helpful thanks in advance.

Do you have any check engine codes?

Only for the misses in cylinders 1&2

Did you check coil for cracks, distributor cap, rotor, coil wire.

start at the coil and go over every inch.

injectors for those cylinders clogged?

Haven't checked the coil yet. I don't believe the injectors are clogged how would i clean them either way?

I'm hoping it's not loss of compression in there. You could remove the injector and try to clean them out with a spray like throttle body cleaner. Or you may have to get new injectors if they are indeed the culprit

Swap injectors 1&2 with 5&6 to see if codes change. I had a miss that slowly got worse and it showed miss in cyl 6. Replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor & did a compression check. Had a bad injector on #6.

Did you put gas in the tank in between running well and not?

I did actually

I am going to suggest you have some marginal injectors. Run this tank out and then fill with premium. That will probably fix it. But for a permanent fix you will have to replace those injectors

Before replacing injectors do a compression check.

Planning on a compression check asap.

I am thinking it might be low blinker fluid and bad muffler belt. Get them check asap!

We did take the TB off and cleaned the TB that did not seem to help much.

Haven't been able to do a compression test yet but how likely is it to be heads if its not using any coolant or oil?

I don't think that is your problem

Also would it be best to get used injectors or new if advised to get new I'll for sure have to wait.

I would prefer new myself. But if you are on a tight budget you could try used if they provide some sort of exchange warranty if they don't work out

And since you're doing the work already you could upgrade the injectors.

What would i upgrade them with? The injectors.

There's ones from Dodge Neons and ones from certain Mustangs... even some from Volvos. Now to which will work and be best for yours, i have studied and still can't figure it out. I'm gonna have to relay this to someone more knowledgeable on the subject. I don't wanna tell you the wrong thing and end up with the wrong injectors

19 lb. Injectors from a mustang are supposed to give a better spray pattern. But I guess it depends on the brand. If I can find it I have a site where you get 6 for around 136.00. I will try to find and post up. The first time I replaced my #6 injector I put in a new one. 4 months later it started missing on #6 again. I called a friend and he had a whole rail assembly that I bought for $40. That was 2 years ago and no problems. I still have 5 spares......shame you are not closer.

http://precisionautoinjectors.com/collections/jeep-injectors/products/set-of-4-rebuilt-upgrade-1996-2002-jeep-cherokee-2-5l-fuel-injectors. Here you go. Seems prices have come down. Look for the ones you need I was doing this link thing from my phone for the first time. Smart phone, ignorant operator... lol

It does seem so i threw some Lucas fuel stabalizer with injector cleaner in and it's running better

So i was able to use a snap on scanner today we found that cylinder one is misfiring the worst as in over 200 times in under 2 minutes cylinders 2&5 would misfire about a total of 10 times. Still think it would be snuggle injector?

Since it ran better, I am going to say you indeed need injectors. Personally, I would replace them all and start fresh
