How can I tell if my 99 Xj classic came with factory key phobs? Is it possible to program different ones to my jeep?

I don't think there's a way to tell if your Jeep CAME with them, but sure, you should be able to get new ones and have them programmed. I don't know if they all came with the signal receivers though I think most did. Dealer will probably have to do it and it's not cheap. Your other option is to get a $200 alarm system installed and the key fob for the alarm will lock/unlock your doors too. You could even get one with remote start if your jeep is an automatic. Cheaper to go aftermarket probably.

You could maybe run your VIN through chrysler, and get the build sheet if its available.

AFAIK ... '97+ models need the dealer - to program new/extra, fobs.
