Since you are a welder and fabricator, there are a number of things you can do. First off, you can plate the frame with 3/16" flat bar. That will stiffen it up and make it last longer as well as give you a good platform for custom fabbing a three or four link front. I have a thread on that if you are interested

Hey Wayne, welcome to xjtalk. We'll be glad to give you ideas, and help you out. A suggestion, look around at what others have done, check out build threads, look up experiences with certain items-products-and designs, and see if you like it. Seeing what experiences others have had, how things worked for them, and how a certain item looks and/or performs can be invaluable when deciding what to do.

Looks like a nice pair! What's your plans for em? That fabrication experience will come in handy.:D

Welcome to the forum!!! Nice looking XJ's you got there :)

I vote to give them a 6.5" lift, some nice 33x12.50x15 tires along with steel wheels and to chop off the fenders (makes it look more aggressive to me)....nice heavy duty bumpers too!!

Thanx for the warm welcomes glad to meet you all. Wow this site is better than internet midget porn! LMFAO! There's some awesome articles in here. First I want to do a lift on one of em was thinking 4.5" but I want a kit with all the bells and whistles don't want to get jammed up when I start it... I want all my "T"'s crossed and my "I"'s dotted if you know what I mean (I don't like surprises). I've got access to a press bake capable of bending up too 1/4" plate and a shear also capable of cutting the steel, and a CNC plasma table so I'm ready to go in that aspect...Plus my boss is into it too. Working on some ideas for bumpers right now so if anyone has some prints or ideas that would be helpful. Who knows maybe ill start fabbing things to sell.

shhh dont say midget porn, youll get cantab excited ;)

For a lift, if you want something cheap and decent go with Rough Country (I had the 6.5" lift and it did fine for me...my xj was a daily driver and a crawler). I like stingers personally, mine was homemade as well as the rear bumper...ill try to find some pics to post up....
