Tire carrier - for real folks

If one wants to spend $900 on toting around a spare, those options are certainly out there. Me? I don't think so. I bought my XJ for a tad over 2k, theres no way I'm spending that kinda coin on a spare carrier.

So, I've found this little gem of a hitch mount carrier for $89 from Summit.

(if a vendor makes such an item, point me there) I'll then hack it up and modify it to fold down and out of the way. Anyone done something like this?

I agree They are pricey. Although I do like the detours backbone. I'm hoping I'll come across one in my travels.

I've got a 31 stuffed in the back but want this to free up cargo space. And I need to buy a 33 so that I'm not disabled if I have to use the spare.

Getting setup to do some runs with new club in east texas and getting all the loose ends wrapped up. Its stuff I've been needing to do and just haven't gotten to. extinguisher, first aid kit, full size spare, etc
