Found this 1974 jeep CJ5 and for the price i couldn't pass it up. 1200 bucks ready to go. Just needs a few minor welds to fix some rust here and there. Came with lunchbox lockers front and rear. 33in BFG's. Already cut out the driver wheel well to move the seat back and going to raise the roll cage. Not much room in it for driver or passenger. The steering wheel was stuck in my stomach.

It has been removed, it was too noisy on the first ride to the river. Scared all the deer away :D

yeah i bought it for my dad since i traded one of my cherokees for a crf450r dirtbike (the jeep he used)...hes been giving me a hard time about not having anything to take mudding so i got this. The first thing he said was those flames probably gotta go....after the seat gets fabbed and moved back. It has a 2 stick transfer case. Apparently it was in california and was used for rock crawling. First time i went out i put it in 4wd and one of the spots for the shifter i can have just the front tires turn lol, i guess that helps when you need the front to move over a little.

You can run the TC that way but it actually means the detent is broke internally, A lot of guys do leave them that though

detent? It shifts easy and go to 4lo and hi easy. it sometimes pops out but i think the body is moving and hitting the shifter.

Hey, at least those flames have some red in them. It's so badass it can wheel all day with front wheel drive ONLY.

I used to remove those when I had CJs. They are only there for no brainer type drivers and to make a single lever work both shift rails. I have one in my Atlas that will come out this winter
