Howdy!

I recently had my beloved '08 subaru forester lost due to a flash flood :sick0004:. After a long process of dealing with insurance I was left without a vehicle, and an empty feeling. I truly loved that car.

After two months of searching (and researching) for a replacement, with a SUPER tight budget ($2000) i came across a 1999 Jeep Cherokee SE (no 4x4 :P) for $1850, 155k miles. I finally got the paper work done and she's all mine. I was drawn to the extremely loyal driver base (), american made automobile (how bad ass) :patriot:, and extreme reliability (from what I have read). I have some simple (cosmetic) projects I'll have to do to get it back in tip top shape. A brief list:

slight headliner sag
needs a new cabin light installed
steering collumn cover needs to be replaced
etc.

I haven't gotten a good look all over due to finals :bang:

However, I am very excited to get started with her.

A new, proud Jeep owner.:xjtalk: :xj-green:

Named her Lenny, in honor of SRV's wife, and my first cassette played in the vehicle, "TEXAS FLOOD", which is what led me to this jeep (via destroying my previous ride).

There are two ways. One is to upload to a free hosting service like Photobucket and just paste the image link in your response. This is the best because you can intersperse text and images. The other is from your desk top with the manage attachments option in the list below the reply text area. But some images might be turned on their side and all will appear at the bottom of text.

Lol, its ok...we were all new at one time :)

Do you have a photobucket account? If you do just copy the "img" link and paste it on here.

This is one of the reasons i use tapatalk so much. I can upload an image straight through the app without dealing with all that. But its just one image, more than that and it seems to not want to show them. Might be another option for ya if you use a phone or tablet.

That is a nice looking Jeep. The green Jeep crowd here will love it. (There is a little good natured color rivalry here)

Appreciate it, I'm quite proud of it.
Also, I firmly believe in good natured rivalry

Alright guys, I have been searching around, is there a how to on the oxygen sensor replacement? I know that it should be replaced in mine, it has the original from '99. I found a bosch O2 sensor, is that a good choice?

I'm looking to do some basic maintenance to help improve overall performance. And maybe help out the mpg (not main focus, I just want it to run in top form)

Thanks ahead

Yes, Bosch is a good brand. Jeep used them in some (if not all).

You can use a special socket, or just a wrench on them. A warm pipe is best and don't forget to use anti sieze on the threads
