I want to know where I can find a blue LED backlight for my gauge cluster and gear indicator.

I would also like to know how hard they are to replace and how to get to the gauge cluster lights

Yours uses #74 bulbs for the gauges and #194s for shifter indicators. How many, i don't know. I've done this know mine, but its an older xj so different style. Its just changing out the factory bulbs in the back of the cluster. So, most likely popping off a couple panels and a few screws.

Also, when looking for bulbs make sure they are 360°. This is so the light shines evenly.

Superbrightleds.com sells them, but too expensive for me. So, i search for USA sellers on ebay. Good deals can be had.

A kid on another forum put led's in his ranger. He purchased his off of ebay. He has had the ebay ones in for a couple months now with no problems but he said to buy a couple extra because a 2 of his were dead out of the box. But for a dollar a piece you can't beat it.

To take the gauge cluster out pop the trim off around the radio. Put the shifter into neutral and grab from the bottom and pull out, it will pop right out. Then take the panel off below the steering wheel, It's something like 4 screws and then there are 2 clips at the top if I remember right, just pop it out carefully. Once those panels are off all of the screws will be exposed to remove the trim around the gauge cluster. That trim piece also has a couple of pop clip things. Once all of those panels are removed all of the screws holding the gauge cluster in should be exposed and it should be pretty self explanatory from there. I've never taken my gauge cluster out so somebody else will have to take it from there.

Here's my dash from when I was replacing my headlight switch. You wont have to pull that metal panel down. Just the plastic one that goes over it.

Edit: You may have to take the metal piece down, I can't remember if the headlight switch knob will fit through the panel.

Blue may Look cool, but its not a great idea, as it stops your eyes from working well in the dark... Thats why cockpits are all red/yellow

Also, LED's don't dim well, they reduce to a point and then pop Off.

Just my 2 cents, but I'll point out, I'm a BLUE HATER!, anything with a Blue Led that I own, gets a drop of nail polish or tape over it, even my stereo!

I got one of those fancy stereo head units Where I can select the light color between blue and green :) I like the look of the blue, but the green matches the rest of the lights in the Jeep
