Went to a pretty cool auto show this weekend, thought I would share a few of the ones that interested me the most. There were a lot of really nice cars there, I literally walked past a '63 Corvette Split Window because I saw a MB 300SL Gullwing down the way that I HAD to go see. Of course I went back to drool over the 'Vette but still it was a sight to see!

I saw this tag and immediately thought of Josh, I'm asking around to find one from Jeep instead of Ford to put on Josh's XJ to make sure he starts driving it around again! (just kidding with you)

German Police Porsche 356. There were 6 of these made for the German State Police to help patrol the Autobahn. Very cool car, I love the Porsche 356's. Not much different than a VW but man are they nice to look at.

And the aforementioned 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing. This thing was absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite vehicles ever produced.

Hey look! I found a Jeep! This CJ-7 wasn't actually in the show, just parked close by but I snapped a few pics because I love the old CJ's.
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af15/abebehrmann/BF151F09-BE6F-4C9E-BB68-ED260ED70D6B-16498-00000FD8B92D6960_zpsb7330584.jpg (http://s989.photobucket.com/user/abebehrmann/media/BF151F09-BE6F-4C9E-BB68-ED260ED70D6B-16498-00000FD8B92D6960_zpsb7330584.jpg.html)

And something similar to a Jeep, a 1929 Willy's Knight. Willy's made the first Jeeps (well I guess Bantam actually did, but I don't really count them) http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af15/abebehrmann/B332DAF7-055B-47A3-B97E-9B24345888A1-16498-00000FDA60656D7A_zps775f2793.jpg (http://s989.photobucket.com/user/abebehrmann/media/B332DAF7-055B-47A3-B97E-9B24345888A1-16498-00000FDA60656D7A_zps775f2793.jpg.html)

I believe this was a 1949 Chrysler Town and Country (not 100% about this)

This one might have been my favorite car of the show. This guy found this 1955 Porsche 356 in a barn and spent years restoring it in his backyard shop. You could tell from his photo album he wasn't ridiculously wealthy and didn't have a top-notch shop to work in but he sure did produce a beautiful nearly flawless vehicle

And finally a JK that some guy lifted but hasn't gotten around to switching out the tires yet...

I hope you guys like the pics and can see them. I'm still trying to figure out how to post multiple pics at a time. Let me know what you think, what your favorites are, and if you want more pics (I've got tons but they may only be of interest to me).

Well I just spent the last two hours reading about Tatras.... what a cool company and very ahead of their time in many respects. I really like the T77. Will post more pics when I get back to computer.

Yep, lovin the pics. I always like going to car shows, museums, and even got to go to a shop that restores some of the top cars in the concourse circuit.

That 300sl would have been one of my top ones too.

One of the really cool places to go is Harrah's auto collection in Sparks, Nevada. Next to Reno. The gambling industry generates lots of wealth and he had a huge collection including a separate Duesenberg collection, Pachard collection with every model and year and some really cool stuff like the original Ripley's vehicle. A 5th wheel trailer lined in padded red velvet that Ripley saw the world in. Pulled by a Ford I think with the rumble seat removed. Also of note was a 500 cu in air cooled 5 cyl engine that had a stationary crank shaft and spun ...... in the trunk. Bet that was noisy. Also little signs to denote first windshield wiper, starter motor etc. Plan on at least half a day
