I have a 1998 4 door Sport. It has the 4.0, auto trans, 143,000 miles. Signed up here a long time ago but haven't made any posts, just wanted to say hey! i have a bunch of ideas for this bad boy. I want a 4.5 lift with about 32 tires. :bacondance: :xj-green:

I have some pictures on my home page! I'm starting with the engine first. I'm getting a new valve cover and new head gasket to fix a leak.

Good place to start. Always best to deal with the reliability before mods... even though that's not what we want to do. :D

Sounds like a good plan you got going... Don't worry it might be a slow start for ya, but you'll be enjoying your lifted XJ in no time...

I run that kit. Its good quality. And, for me, accompanied with a set of Bosch Platinums helped smooth out my rough idle. And would probably be nice to be paired with bigger injectors but i haven't gotten there yet.

Although it is a bit pricey for the parts included.

I've heard both good and bad things about the kit. I want to get it but I'm not sure on it.

Accel makes a kit as well, but it doesn't come with the coil. My brother runs that one with no complaints as well.

surely you used a valve cover gasket, not a head gasket, right? valve cover bolts on top of the head and valve cover gasket goes in between. Head gasket is between head and engine block.... FYI
