As you may have heard (if you listen to the XJ TALK SHOW!) xjtalk.com and XJ TALK SHOW! will be at SEMA this year.

Matt (msmoorenburg) already there and I'll be heading up in a few hours.

Right now the plan is to post up pictures, perhaps audio and video, here in this post. You can also follow along via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/xjtalk and Twitter http://www.twitter.com/xjtalk

Its a great time , I used to go every year as I was close to it and my company paid for the rooms. A few tips for ya if you've never been. Comfortable walking shoes a must. Yes it takes three full days to cover the main areas. On the last day you can get lots of freebies they would rather give away stuff than pack it up and haul it out so bring an empty suitcase. At the end of the day you will be wiped out so don't make big night time plans, trust me if you hit hard as you should to take it all in you will done a ready to relax and reflect on your day. Have a great time its a blast !!!

The 3 hours of sleep I had Tuesday didn't play well for me eating a big meal and heading out to SEMA yesterday, so today will be my first day there. Expect some pictures! :D

Matt and I are meeting for a good hearty breakfast then off for about 5 hours of SEMA!

Here all week, so should be a very interesting time!

Went to be early yesterday, so woke up early this morning! Needed some coffee, fortunately there's a McDonalds here in the hotel. This is the line at 4AM!

so the wife and I went out to the strip yesterday evening. about 5pm we started seeing show vehicles from SEMA driving south bound on the strip. I saw at least one that wasn't street legal! lol another that was using his led light bar, it was insanely bright and it may have been a 24 inch light bar.

My impression of SEMA was good. i'm somewhat surprised and disappointed at the lack of Jeep cherokees. many of the companies we buy from everyday were there so I know they make money off the XJ folks, but apparently not enough to justify setting up a nicely out fitted cherokee for display.

sad really, and even more so since the 2014 cherokee was displayed. now I will say that it wasn't as prominently displayed as I thought it would be. the JK had a much nicer display in the mopar section.

one additional note to my last post. let's see if we can get representation at SEMA for the cherokee next year, the real one not the 2014. when you buy from a company for your XJ tell them you want to see a XJ in their booth next year!

I don't know that it's worth 6 hours on a plane and prob another 4 hours of various waiting, but the Vegas strip is a sight to behold.

Ouch, tony. Had that before... on Christmas Eve. Its truly horrible.

Another had noted seeing only one XJ as well. It seems a bit odd to me, with how popular modified XJs are at this point in time. And all the pics i've seen of this years Sema... way too many "pretty" JKs. One Unlimited with maybe 40" tires and a Dana 30 up front.

I think the lack of XJ presents is b/c it's old and many people think a real jeep is a wrangler. A lot of vendors I've talked to also comment how cheap XJ owners are. We could all chip in on a booth and display XJ's. I'd go to SEMA only bc it's an hour flight for me. Other than that I can't stand the city.
Nice pix Tony!

BWAAHAAA, was that a Michael Jackson tribute Jeep? BWAAHAAHAAAA!
.
Over there last 5 years, I've been asked to provide product for numerous companies attending SEMA. One was PPG Paint, which used one of my BackBone systems as a rotating display, another was Hellwig Motor Sports on their "Every Day Joe" XJ display which was very popular, that vehicle has since been totaled, otherwise you might have seen it. There's been others as well, but lesser known companies.
.
The JK is Jeeps and actually the whole off road markets, bolt on blitz, sell to the newb, hot item right now......Our XJ's are far from dead, there's still new
product being developed, folks are still happy to own them!
.
Keep your chin up! ;)

I do like the idea of unzipping your Jeep and running it thru the washing machine. But I bet it'll shrink in the dryer.
