Hey guys. I need some help.
I just installed a Rough Country 4.5 in X-series lift kit. Yes, I know, RC, I'm now going to get a bunch of s**t, but I like it.
I just need some help trying to figure out what degree leaf spring shims to get. They are full spring packs, not, AAL. I've read people with 4.5 in going with 4*, but I want to measure and be positive before I order them.
I have an angle locator and am willing to do what I need to find the ones I need. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. - These are the shims I will get if I can't figure it out.

FYI - I also have an SYE.

You'll get no s**t from here. Everybody is accepted. Except for maybe that guy that calls into the podcast all the time... He's a real nut job.

Is there supposed to be a link? Ha, if so, I don't see anything.

I have 3 RC lifts. 4.5" on 98 XJ, 3" on 99 XJ and 4" on 03 TJ. I like them too! :D

It's good to know I'm not the only one that likes RC.

I think the majority of people on here probably have RC. They're not bad and decently priced. I have some RC parts on mine, and a few others as well for a pieced together lift.

I have a 4 inch RC lift on my Grand. The rod ends are noisy but I like mine and when I get my wife a Grand I'll probably use their 2 BB.

So, it looks like I need 6° shims. I measured before at 95° then after at 89°. So 6° right?

Your math is sound but I would start a little less maybe 4 degree and see if that solves your problem. I have an RE lift with different height in the rear due to the tools and recovery gear and I used the larger shim and had a bit up upnose on my pinion and lowered it with a less steep shim. It is all good now.

I have the 6.5" lift with 6 degree shims and its perfect on my jeep. So as Bluexj said, if I were you I'd go with 4 degree shims.

I used 4* shims on 4.5" lift as well. Just make sure you get metal shims not aluminum. They crack easily. I got mine from WFO.com.
