There's a statement in this article that actually pisses me off a bit. It states: "The Thomas’s say if this crime had happened in a rural area, they may not have seen the overwhelming response that helped bring the ordeal to an end so quickly."
What are the chances of it happening in a rural part for starters? Cities are nothing more than a pool of wackos, substance abusers, theifs, & murders. The mission district non the less has a copious amount of crime. These people are bonkers for 1 leaving the car running. 2 leaving their kids in the car while running in a crappy part of the city.
Read it for yourself.

In the first place, it is highly unlikely it would have even happened in a rural area. These people are clueless

Right? Take your neck of the woods for instance. Who's going to come up that 1/4 miles driveway without anyone noticing a not so familiar person? Fewer population means everyone that's regular is known. If someone saw me driving ur jeep. You'd be getting a phone call.
