Hello. I'll just write a quick bit for now and try to add more later. I'm pretty new to Jeeping... got interested in it basically this year. A work buddy was going to scrap an '86 XJ that was in pretty decent shape, so I picked it up as a project. I was interested in learning a bit more about 4x4 rigs and some wrenching skills, so this seemed a good idea. I also love the outdoors, so it seemed even better yet. I've been working on the rig since around May and still have a fair amount to do before I get to wheel it (winter approaching doesn't help here either). I had a buddy that found a good deal on a '75 CJ5 shortly after I picked up the XJ, but figured I could put use to it also (heck, is there such a thing as too many Jeeps?). My present plans are to make the XJ into an expedition rig that is very capable but not extreme. The CJ will be a bit more on the extreme side. Both will be either street legal or very close, but I'll pick up a car hauler next spring either way I think to haul them around.

You've come to the place then! We welcome anyone, especially ones that have a thirst for this obsession we call jeeps. Got questions? We'll try our very best to help. We do request respect for one another. No question too small... no problem too big.

Thanks for saving that XJ, personally i think too many end that way. I like the overland style and should turn out well.

If you ever want the answer to that too many jeeps question, ask Jenssen on here. He's up to 10 i think. ;)

Welcome to xjtalk! Make yourself at home.

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.

Welcome to the forum. I have an 86 also, or what is left of it anyway
