jeep wrangler interior in a jeep xj?

I would love to put the tj passenger dash grab handle into my xj. Has anyone done this? The interiors look similar but I am not sure about compatability.

I think finding sufficient metal to connect the grab bar to may be a bit "deeper" in the dash than on the TJ.
