Okay, I've looked everywhere online. No help. I have a 2000 Jeep cherokee classic. Where is my Key fob sensor?

It is in the overhead console. Kind of a bump hanging down

I do not have a overhead console. I took my dome light apart and don't see anything that looks like a sensor.

It's in the dome light. Take out the dome light lens, unscrew the two small screws, and the whole housing will come off the roof.
There will be a circuit board inside that housing. That is what you're looking for. If there isn't one there, then your XJ didn't come with Keyless entry.

Yeah the older XJ's and ZJ's had an IR sensor that stuck down from the upper center console... The newer XJ's and Jeeps have a circuit board that has the sensor built in, you won't see one separately.. I got lucky and ended up finding a circuit card w/ matching key fobs, as my XJ came with the board, but not fobs...

I took it to jeep and they said that the circuit board is discontinued. Figures...

Call or email the people at www.daveysjeeps.com. I got a circuit board and two programmed fobs from them for $75.
Plug and play install.

Awesome!:D That rocks! So are the fobs already programmed? Do they back up their stuff if it doesn't work?
