That does underscore in a couple of places a point I made in Jeep Tips way back. If you attach to a tree, do it at the base not up high. You can pull them over on yourself if you attach to high

I think some points on the right conditions for a "snatch strap" would be useful...I always start with a experimental slow tug to see if its a hopeless case or not. In that XJ on its side, that was NOT the time or place for a "put it to the floor" approach. :crazy:
I was at a incident when a winch cable broke because the moron was trying to use it like a "snatch strap"...luckily a tree caught most of it, and I only almost lost a finger. :mad:
